The black Camry is a classic
If you compare photos of Camry 7-generation and XV40, we can see that the cars are different and similar to each other. Designers of XV50 have created a dynamic and sharp image of the new model, what stands a chrome plaque above the grille resembling Japanese samurai sword - katana. The radiator grille itself consists of thin chrome strips. But although the headlights have changed, they remain similar to the optics of the previous model.
The front end has been redesigned, a wide "saber" above the number plate is preserved, but the shape has been changed and became blade-shaped. The headlights, on the contrary, became more massive and wider, despite the fact that some corners are no longer rounded. The massive rear bumper is virtually unchanged, with only the addition of reflectors at the bottom.

Interior
The interior of the 2012 model year Camry has changed significantly. The space in the cabin has increased for both the passenger and driver. People of almost any height can sit comfortably, recesses in ceiling panelling are made for this purpose. Armchairs are wide and soft in American style, a slender person will feel lack of lateral support. In some configurations, it is possible to adjust rear seats, control tape recorder, climate and curtain in armrest of rear sofa.
Black interior - a practical solution
All Camry XV50 models except the base model are equipped with a head unit with a 6-inch display. Toyota engineers have improved the 7th generation's noise insulation, but it remains inadequate for an E-class car. The old-fashioned wood trim on the interior remains.

Toyota engines with proper maintenance will not give the owner any problems. Many motorists, knowing that Toyota produces reliable automobiles, begin to abuse it: they pour in low-quality oil, change it not every 10 thousand km, but much less often. It inevitably leads to premature engine wear and breakage.
Unlike the XV40 only automatic transmissions were installed on the "Five Ten". There was a 4-speed transmission with a two-liter engine, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with 2.5-liter engine. - With the 2.5 liter engine it was a 6-speed automatic transmission U760E, with the V6 3.5 - 6-speed U660E. There are practically no complaints on reliability of a pair of a 2-liter engine and 4AC gearbox, the units are time-proven. But 6ACPP quite often requires repair at too aggressive driving style.
Advantages and disadvantages
Rust on a bonnet
An important advantage of the 2013 Camry is reliability. Motors and boxes with competent maintenance and moderate driving style will work long and without problems. The chassis will not require frequent and expensive repairs, main units and assemblies will last more than 100 thousand km. A plus is the soft suspension, which is well suited for rough roads. Toyota's advantages are the demand for used cars on the market and the slow drop in price.

The weaknesses of the Toyota Camry XV50 include the soft and thin body paintwork, which is inherent in modern cars. But the main problem is that the car quickly starts to rot in places of chipped paint, sometimes corrosion even reaches the welds in the boot. When picking up a used car, check the boot lid and bonnet for rust first.
The mediocre noise insulation is a shortcoming of the 7th generation. It has improved compared to 2006 Camry, but is still low for a sedan of this size. The level of seat trim is also a disadvantage. The seats sag quickly, the trim stretches and tears. This was often a problem before the warranty expired and was repaired by the dealer. Cabin "crickets" are frequent guests, squeaky armrest, front panel, armchairs...
Accessories
Not surprisingly, available options of Camry 2013 were equipped with two-liter motor 1AZ-FE: Standard, Standard Plus, Classic. It is impossible to name completion of Standard absolutely empty, acquiring a new car in such equipment the motorist received:

The Standard Plus comes with leather steering wheel, cruise control, Hands free, 6.1" LCD monitor, rear view camera and rain sensor.
The Classic's option pack isn't much bigger than the previous variant. It adds electric front seat adjustment and leather interior trim.
The next models were offered with 2 and a half litres 2AR-FE engine and six-speed automatic U760E. The Comfort model, apart from powerful engine and automatic transmission, had headlight washer, but no leather interior, power front seats, cruise control, rear-view camera.
The Elegance option provided leather interior, electric front seat adjustment, 6.1 monitor, rear view camera, rain sensor and headlight washer.
The Elegance Plus compared to the Elegance will have larger R17 wheels, xenon headlights, chrome-plated door handles, an engine start button and keyless entry to the car.

Premium offers more options for rear passengers: heating and electric adjustment of the rear sofa. There's also the adaptive road lighting system (AFS).
The LCD monitor with a larger diagonal (7 inches), navigation system, and premium audio system JBL with 10 speakers are the advantages of Prestige. In Prestige Plus configuration, a 3-zone climate control is available.
Expensive versions of Camry 50 are offered with V6 3.5-liter 2GR engine. Buying the most affordable model with a larger engine Elegance Drive, the owner forfeited many options of expensive 2.5-liter engine: power and heated rear seats, adaptive lights (AFS), third zone climate, premium music and larger display.
The Lux package offers all the options of this model with the larger engine.

The 2012 Camry's body dimensions are virtually unchanged from the 6th generation. Length is 4,825mm, height is 1,480mm, width is 1,825mm. Ground clearance or ground clearance is standard for this model - 160 mm. Fuel tank capacity is the same as in the previous and subsequent generations - 70 litres. The volume of the luggage compartment is 506 litres.
