Differences between the Elegance and GR Sport configurations of the Toyota Camry

One of the most talked about innovations has been the Toyota Camry business car, which now can't be described as clumsy and thought-provoking. In this article, I would like to tell you about the differences between the Elegance and GR Sport configurations.

If to consider a hierarchy of complete sets of this car in the form of a ladder, Elegance will stand on the fourth step from the bottom, ahead of such complete sets as Standard, Standard Plus and Classic, and GR Sport is located right behind it. I want to note, that both examined variants were equipped with the identical engines of 2,5 litres, therefore from the point of view of equipment - full parity.

Let's compare how these configurations differ from each other.

Differences in the interior

The first thing we shall pay attention to is red stitching of all interior elements in GR Sport kitting. The photos in the gallery are formed as follows: the first photo is for GR Sport package and the second one is for Elegance package.

In GR Sport the starter button has a special logo and the same logo is on the pads protecting the sills:

The trim materials for the gear selector area are also different. In addition to the aforementioned red stitching, in the GR Sport trim materials are matte, and in the Elegance variant the plastic is stylized like wood. And also the edging of cupholders in Elegance modification is made of chrome.

But, you should agree that these differences are obviously not enough to justify the difference in cost of the complete set: Elegance model costs 2 million 351 thousand 500 rubles, while GR Sport model costs 2 million 405 thousand 500 rubles if we speak about the 2.5-liter engine. Thus, the difference is 54 thousand rubles.

Also, if the car is equipped with the 3.5 litre engine in the GR Sport configuration, there are gearshift paddles as well as a system for selecting driving modes (Eco, Normal or Sport). Driver amenities also include a wireless charger and a seven-inch colour multifunction display on the instrument cluster. But, again, it's all under the condition of a choice of the 3.5 litre engine. Such car will already cost 2 million 775 thousand 500 rubles.

Differences in the exterior

Now let's look at the exterior changes. One of them is visible to the naked eye - the GR Sport has a two-tone body. There are also differences in the front bumper:

Take a closer look at the lower part of the bumper. In GR Sport kitting it has a red overlay, while in Elegance kitting it's black glossy.

There are also differences in wheel disks. In Elegance they are 17-diameter wheels (tyres size is 215/55) and in GR Sport - 18-diameter (tyres size is 235/45), i.e. tyres are wider in GR Sport package:

In my opinion, if you are not a principle lover of listening to music in the car, it is better to get a complete set Elegance, it is more practical, so to say. And wheels and tyres are cheaper, the car itself is cheaper, and there is no difference in dynamics.
