I am now in a car dealership at an authorized Toyota dealer. I came to the dealership to consider buying a new car Toyota Camry. Yes, yes, you heard right, I want to buy a luxury car for 35 000 USD. And why not?! Only whether Camry is worth the money, that's the question!

Appearance, of course, the Camry has a specific, here even a wizened expert will say that the designers drew some not very presentable car. The demand speaks about it. Though someone declares that it is the best-selling car. Only for some reason the situation in showrooms draws a different picture.

Six-cylinder V-shaped engine, 3.5 liter, 249 horsepower, 8-speed automatic transmission. Accelerates to 100 km/h in about 7.7 seconds. Top speed is 220 km/h.

All power units have proved themselves well, I have no complaints about them. And as for the automatic transmissions, in my opinion, they are some of the best.

Let's look under the car

Looking at the underbody, the first thing that catches your eye is the sloppy application of rustproofing. Everything is dirty, from the tank to suspension units. The second thing that has struck my eye is that there are no aerodynamic noise shields. The competitors of Camry have much more thoughtful in this respect. Now I understand, where negative responses about bad noise isolation of Toyota Camry automobile come from.

The front suspension is of the McPherson type. The rear is independent, lever-type, spring-type, with separately removed shock absorbers. Transverse stability stabilizer, mounted on front and rear axle. Front and rear disc brakes. Ground clearance is about 155 millimeters.

After getting to know the underbody. I look at the Toyota Camry from the outside and think, "Why do your customers like you so much? What's so special about you that other cars don't have?" I would not be surprised if the answer to all my questions is that it is simply a promoted brand.

I, with my height of 180 centimeters, had to bow to the car to get into the second row of seats. The back row seating isn't exactly comfortable. While picking on it, I will say that the doorway is a little low. Sitting on the rear row of passenger seats is comfortable. There is a posh armrest, with a built-in glove box.

Between the front row of seats, in the armrest, for passengers seated on the back sofa, built-in USB connectors and air vents coming from the climate system of the car.

In the driver's workplace

In the driver's seat, the fit is much more comfortable than in the back sofa. Sitting is comfortable, visibility is good. Thanks to a wide range of adjustments to the steering column and seat position, I quickly adjusted the driver's workplace, to suit myself.

To say that the car is equipped with a large number of different electronics, I will not. As many of listed above will be simply absent in a car with "a niche" complete set.

The instrument panel (Torpedo) is made in an attractive style. Notice how beautifully built in the LCD monitor. Underlining that it is in its place. In general the design of the paraprise to a strong four, if we estimate on a scale of 10 points.

Now, what didn't appeal to me about the Toyota Camry car. First of all, the strange design of the car. In photos, which are located on the site of the manufacturer, the car looks much nicer than in person. In the second, having looked at the platform of the car I should say that the competitors have better platform in my opinion. Besides, I am not ready to overpay for a brand. That is all for me.
