Toyota Camry 2019 is the 9th generation of the popular business sedan, which has retained the elegant proportions of the series, but has also received a number of advantages compared to the older versions. The car has good dynamics and is in demand among Europe and Ukrainian motorists, thanks to its low cost. In 2018, the Camry ranked 11th in terms of sales in Europe and 4th in Ukraine. The new version, which became available in these markets later than in the US, China and Japan, is expected to gain similar popularity.

When designing the exterior of the Camry, the manufacturer has taken quite a few features from its other subsidiary brand Lexus. Moreover, you can notice the differences already on the front of the car;
The bonnet lid has become more embossed and sloped towards the ground;
In the centre of the bumper, a slightly modified thin strip of air intake appeared, in the middle of which the company's emblem is located;
On the sides of the air intake are the headlamps, which look more "predatory" than in previous generations;
Fog lights, stitched into the grille, became more compact.
The side of the car also became more relief and is quite in line with its class. Wider wheel arches and redesigned mirrors and rims. The rear lights of the 9th generation are made with chrome outlines, the headlights themselves have become smaller. The style of the boot and rear bumper has changed.

The Toyota's centre of gravity has become 2cm lower, making it easier to steer the car. The sedan's roof is 2.5 cm lower, the body is 3.5 cm longer and 1.5 cm wider. The dimensions of the car are now 4.885, 1.84 x 1.455 m (L x W x H). Wheelbase increased by 5 cm to 2.825 m and ground clearance decreased to 155 mm. Due to the ground clearance Camry's cross-country ability became worse, although still remains decent for a city car. And change of base leaves more space for knees of passengers of the second row.

Inside the new 2019 Toyota Camry there is a multi-driver and a modified gearbox with a 4.2-inch screen, which increases to 7 inches in the top versions. You can also notice here the updated multimedia system panel. Its functionality and size depend on the equipment. The mid-priced models have a 7-inch display, while the more expensive ones have an 8" or 10" display with JBL audio system and Wi-Fi hotspot. Some versions have Apple CarPlay support.
There is more space on the second row. And European versions have such an option as heating of the second row and windshield. But to get it, one should buy a car not lower than Elegance. There is a side support for seats, adjustment and position memory, heating and ventilation of rear couch in the list of options. Starting from Classic version, the interior can be trimmed with leather.

The car comes with three powertrain options, varying in displacement, power and other features. The 2019 Toyota Camry specifications with these engines are as follows:
The base 2.0-litre version with 150bhp lets you accelerate to 100km/h in 11 seconds. Fuel consumption for the combined mode is 7.1 litres.
The second engine - with the volume of 2.5 litres and capacity of 181 hp. It accelerates a car up to a hundred only for 9.9 seconds, though already spends about 8.3 litres of petrol.
The 3.5 liter engine has got 249 hp capacity. It allows the owner to accelerate up to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, but does not lead to appreciable increase in the tax. Because of the decent dynamics, the car already spends 8.7 litres per 100 km.
The luggage space is 493 litres for standard cars and 469 liters for versions with electric adjustable backrests. The trim on the inside of the boot is now better and more accurate. And upgraded compartment lid springs allow it to open smoothly.
Crash tests have shown that the Camry's safety remains at the level of previous generations, which almost always earn 5 stars on the Euro NCAP standard. The car has child protection at 44.4 out of a possible 49 points, adults at 35.3 out of 36.

The car competes in the market with models such as the Hyundai i40 with a two-litre 150bhp engine and an automatic transmission for 1.22m, and the Kia Optima with a similar powertrain and price. However, the Hyundai model has practically no noticeable pluses, except for low purchase and maintenance costs. At the same time, Optima has also a comfortable saloon, smooth running and a choice of two more engine variants - but the price rises if you buy a kit with a powerful engine.
A dangerous rival in the domestic market may become for the 2019 Camry the 6th Mazda. Even the base version of this car has received a good set of options, a comparatively powerful engine and excellent drivability. However, this Mazda's package price is higher than that of the Camry, which is why the car sells worse in Europe.
