More often it stops on three "fresh" bodies - ХV40, XV50 and XV70. What are their pros and cons and which Camry to choose, let's find out.
Toyota Camry XV40
The sixth generation Camry (XV40) has been synonymous with solidity and reliability since its introduction in 2006 for many years. This car, despite its age, still looks relevant and in demand at the secondary market. Nearly 700 offers can be currently found on various online marketplaces.

Camry XV40 available with two types of engines - in-line "four" 2.4 liter (167 hp) with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission or a 3.5 liter V6 (277 hp) with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both engine and gearbox variants are reliable, but there are a couple of nuances.
On the 2.4 motor you can sometimes encounter oil consumption - its level must be constantly monitored. The automatic, which goes with the V6, is often overloaded because of high torque (346 Nm) and likes to release all the "horses" at once. Be sure to check the correct operation of the box before buying.
Engines consume reasonable 12-13 liters in a city and about 10 liters beyond it.
No complaints about the body: it does not rust, paint quality is excellent - even with time there are no "rusts" or "bubbles". Plastic optics becomes muddy with the lapse of time - aesthetically it looks dull, and from the point of view of security it is a minus. The question is solved by polishing and "armouring" of headlights.
The interior is spacious, comfortable, ergonomics is excellent. There is enough space for four adult passengers.
The car heats up quickly in winter and the climate control comes to the rescue in hot weather. But it is a problem with noise isolation. Despite of simple, reliable suspension which easily swallows pits of different caliber, one always and everywhere hears noise from wheels.
And one more minus is "crickets"! Creaking from interior details is a "sore" of XV40. Dealers would eliminate it under warranty, but we are talking about at least ten-year old cars.

Toyota Camry XV50
In 2011, an updated Toyota Camry XV50 appeared, which, at first glance, improved everything: interior volume, visibility, safety, variety of options and engines. Gone was the mechanical version, there was only a four- or six-speed automatic.

In base version you'll get 2,0 engine with 148 (after restyling - 150) horsepower. Fuel consumption is small - 9 liters in the mixed cycle. For a big sedan it is an excellent parameter. Dynamics is appropriate - 12,5 seconds up to a "hundred", but you buy the car not to drive, but for comfortable driving from point A to point B.
The version for "driving" is the same 2GR-FE with 3,5 liters, de-energized up to 249 hp. It accelerates up to a hundred in 7 seconds. Initially, power of 3.5 was like XV40 with 277 hp, therefore one can find announcements on such used Toyota Camry too.
The golden mean and the most common option at the secondary market is Camry with 2.5 liters engine with 181 hp.
As a whole the automobile has turned out the worthy continuer of the family Camry: personable, comfortable and various as regards the equipment. Surprisingly, optimization of expenses and economy on materials, unusual for Toyota, has suddenly appeared in this sedan.
Corrosion appears on body panels, paintwork is weak - even on not beaten up car red spots can appear. To run 25 thsd. km the driver's seat looks bad. There were times it was replaced under warranty. After 100 thsd. km the steering wheel coating becomes completely erased, and the noise insulation as if it was not there from the beginning.
There are almost no complaints regarding the engine, transmission and suspension. Everything is solved with timely maintenance. For someone exactly this factor will be decisive while choosing a used Toyota Camry instead of pressed driver's seat.

The design is eye-catching. Inside and out, everything is beautiful and full of that 'business class' feel, but only feel. Even this generation cannot boast of normal noise isolation, quality trim materials and paintwork.
Toyota Camry XV70.
Yes, handling has become better, but low ground clearance of 155mm makes you to park with fear and to overcome holes and obstacles. There is an excellent adaptive cruise control, but multimedia system works illogically and with sticking.
No global problems have been noticed, as the modification is relatively fresh, and all issues are solved under warranty.
