In 2015, the Toyota Camry received an updated exterior, improved dynamics and noise insulation of the interior. However, this is not the limit. For the 2016 model year, the company's engineers have prepared a special version of the car and an updated line of multimedia systems. The new Camry boasts special aerodynamic lines, 18-inch alloy wheels, and two body colors: Blizzard Pearl and Blue Streak Metallic.

Changes in the special version of the Camry also took place in its interior: there is an electric sunroof, exclusive mats and contrasting blue stitching. The car is equipped with a Smart Key System and Qi wireless charging for phones. The Entune Audio Plus infotainment system with the new Connected Navigation Scout® GPS app uses your smartphone as the navigation control.
Depending on the package, the Camry offers a variety of audio and navigation features, including a choice between a 6.1- or 7-inch touchscreen. Top-of-the-line models with four-cylinder engines have the new Connected Navigation Scout® GPS app at their disposal.
Appearance
In 2015, Toyota engineers managed to improve the Camry's comfort and soundproofing. The goal for 2016 was to upgrade the sporty version of the car, which accounts for 45 percent of all sales in the U.S. A unique sport suspension, standard two-piece 18-inch wheels with black accents and P225/45/R18 tires were given to the car's top-end trims.
The updated 2016 Camry has a sleek, bold and confident body shape. The front bumper and grille show a "hungry passion" for the road. The Toyota Camry offers its customers LED headlights with auto-alignment and LED daytime running lights integrated into the sleek exterior. The taillights are specially canonically shaped to create sophistication.
Interior View
The Toyota Camry's interior is made of soft-touch materials, with plenty of space and improved amenities. Depending on the package, the car's seats are made of premium fabric and genuine leather with durable stitching. The matte chrome trim gives the interior of the new Camry a refined look and sense of luxury.
The center console has an upscale look and is elegantly integrated into the center panel. The storage tray is enlarged and next to it is a convenient 12V power outlet, USB port and a place for a smartphone equipped with wireless charging.
A 4.2-inch TFT screen between the three-dimensional instruments is standard on all packages. The color screen displays many vehicle functions and interacts with the multimedia system. In addition, the tire pressure monitoring system (available on some models) displays the pressure in each tire.
Technical specifications
The technical assembly of the new Camry depends on the country of sale. In the United States, base models are equipped with a four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine producing 178 horsepower. Top models come with a six-cylinder 3.5-liter engine producing 268 horsepower (one of the few V6s available on mid-size sedans). Both gasoline engines feature Dual VVT-i (variable valve timing), which ensures optimum performance and efficiency at all engine speeds. Each engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Camry Hybrid: 5.5 liters per 100 km
Toyota plans to release as many as seven hybrid cars in 2016, which includes the Toyota Camry. The Hybrid Synergy Drive transmission, installed on the base set of the car, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, allows to consume 5.5 liters of gasoline in the city, 6 liters on the highway and 5.7 liters in the mixed cycle per 100 km.
The unique technology combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson engine with a small high-torque electric motor. The combined system generates 200 bhp and enables acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
The regenerative braking system converts the electric motor into a generator that captures kinetic energy during braking, storing it in a hybrid battery. Hill-start assist helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when the brake pedal is released.
Entune multimedia system
All 2016 Toyota Camry models are equipped with Bluetooth for wireless connection to your phone. The steering wheel is equipped with audio controls and Bluetooth connectivity buttons. A standard USB port allows for music and video playback from portable devices and includes full integration with Apple products. Top models are equipped with a 7-inch touch screen, navigation system and audio system JBL GreenEdge. The screen can display navigation maps and audio information simultaneously. The eight-channel GreenEdge amplifier enhances sound quality while consuming less power than conventional devices.
Safety
Like all 2016 Toyota vehicles, the Camry is equipped with the STAR safety system, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control System (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.
In addition, for an additional fee, it is possible to install:
adaptive cruise control;
Lane Change Warning System with automatic high beam headlight switching function;
blind spot monitoring system for the driver;
a system for warning of the threat of a diagonal collision at the rear.
The vehicle comes with 10 airbags as standard equipment: two-stage front, regular front and rear, side and side curtain airbags. In 2015, the Toyota Camry received a high-Top Safety Pick+ rating in terms of safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) of the USA.
2016 Toyota Camry Prices and Options
In the U.S., the model is sold in eight packages, including a special version and three hybrid versions. The base version with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission costs $23070. The top-end version with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission will cost $31370.
